For those of you who were not there last night ... we lost 17-14.
...Psycho missed the game tying field goal with :03 left on the clock.
Steve Reckart pitched a great game ... walking only one.
Once again .. we all hit the ball.
We threw out a guy at the plate twice ( same guy in different innings)
Just a few reminders:
1 - Next game Monday at 9pm on Whiston
2 - Dont forget, MVP softball day at the Paintball Park is Sat June 14 beginning at 10am
and running til running can no longer be had. $25 gets you all your rental gear plus a bag
of ammo. ( 500 shots) This is a way to thank yer sponsor for shelling out the money to play
softball. And it is "the more the merrier." In other words, anyone you bring with you gets the
same discount. So bring people!
...and Shane and Ryne ... you are on the softball team now...capice? :-)
3 - Thursday July 3rd is BBQ night at Dan Barnes. ie: The Barnes Lake Ampitheatre!
It's outdoor karaoke, lotsa food and all types of beveridges.
Bring yer Red White & Blue, something to eat and yer wiffle ball ability.
We're all ( hopefully) off Friday July 4th, so make plans to be there.
It's also a family event, so bring significant amounts of family.
Directions are simple and will be distributed as we near the date.

2008 Season Begins
2008 Season Begins...
MVP Ballers vs. Bucket Heads Pub 1
The 2008 Season has arrived !!
On a complete swamp of mud & muck we scored 8 in the bottom of the 1st
last night & never looked back en route to a 18-3 win in 4 innings. ( 15 run rule after 4)
EVERYONE hit the ball ....excpet for Psycho & Steve R who did not get
an at bat because of the shortened game.
But - Psycho kept the book and Steve made the final out.
Arthurs is 1-0 despite walking the first batter of the year!
But at the plate he "burnt" the so-called left centerfield twice.
Newcomer Dan "Who" Hardesty led off in the bottom of the first with
a bloop single to shallow center and that opened the flood gates.
For what it's worth, Evans drank 4 beers in the parking lot afterward.
There was no 8pm game, and by the time 9pm rolled around , the rain
cancelled the rest of the game.
It would have been nice to have Dan Barnes available to end this miserable game in 3 innings instead of 4... had it not been for the major life/season ending, freak crab fishing accident he suffered on the Bering Sea during last October's red crab season.
See ya next week! ( Monday 6pm on Ogden)

Is it Softball yet?
Alright it is January 9th and I'm ready to hit the field. Football is over with, basketball is in full force, time to hit the field.
Although I have heard that we are losing our Coach to the University of Michigan.

Wings Ole Type of Night
After tonight's game, everyone is planning on taking a trip to Wings Ole for dinner and possibly eat out on the deck.
We're 6-6 on the season, lets see if we can pull it to above .500 again.

I Believe In Softball
I believe in competition and camaraderie.
I believe in brackets, bubble gum, and bang-bang plays.
I believe that attendance and preparation win games.
I believe there is more to being a good batter than just being a good hitter.
I believe in being relaxed on defense until the batter lifts her front foot.
I believe it's ok to use defensive shifts to play the odds, and head games.
I believe in taking my turn to coach the base across the field from our dugout.
I believe in checking on the condition of injured opponents.
I believe players should applaud opponents after they make great defensive plays.
I believe players can get better with age.
I believe taking winter BP with a cheap bat helps to hit summer homers with an expensive bat.
I believe in running out routine grounders and lazy fly balls, no matter how frustrated I am.
I believe it is better to be a smart base runner than a fast one.
I believe in the nervous anticipation of a play at the plate.
I believe in the magical moment of recognition after contact on a "no-doubter" home run.
I believe in catchers who talk junk and pitchers who throw it.
I believe in infielders who think getting dirty is part of the job description.
I believe in fast outfielders who do not hug the lines or play to deep.
I believe rattling bats can wake them up, and uncrossing them can avoid bad luck.
I believe in wiping the morning dew off a ball, and squinting into the sunset.
I believe in saving an equipment catalog until the next issue replaces it.
I believe photos; autographed balls and scorebook pages can be better than trophies and t-shirts.
I BELIEVE THERE IS NO OFF-SEASON. JUST A LONGER WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT GAME.
I believe in the butterflies of opening day and the long drive home after the final game.
I believe in showing appreciation to your family and friends who came to watch you play.
I believe in thanking the umps when the game is over, regardless of the score.
I believe the final score is part of the overall experience.
I BELIEVE IN SOFTBALL.
